FRCAPI CMP API Questions
Hi Alex,

I have two questions regarding how the API will serve data over the next few days.

1) When teams get assigned to divisions, presumably they will appear in the team listing for the proper event code.
However, all teams currently appear as registered under the CMP event code as well - after divisions are released will
CMP continue listing all teams, or will they go away?

I ask because TBA has 'CMP' special cased to refer to Einstein (for legacy reasons/consistency), which is why you see
this: http://www.thebluealliance.com/event/2016cmp. Once divisions are released, will those teams be cleared out, or
should we fix our event code mapping?

2) When preliminary schedules are released this Friday, what format will it be/will they appear in the API?

Thanks,
Phil
Re: FRCAPI CMP API Questions
Hi Phil,
I put a note about this on the homepage of the project yesterday, but I'll recap it here:

1) The teams will appear in the API by subdivision around 8pm when the show starts. However, they will not disappear
from the CMP event code, because they're all still registered for Championship. All 600 Teams have a chance of making it
to Einstein, so we will still be showing registration records for all 600. Only Teams appearing on Einstein will appear
in the "alliances" endpoint for CMP event code, and within the Playoff schedule for CMP.

2) No, the schedules will not be published to the API. This data is preliminary, and thus not published except
exclusively through the PDF documents FIRST will link to with the watermarks. We ask that third parties not "rehost"
those documents, re-type the schedules into a different format to redistribute, etc. Essentially, until FIRST publishes
the official schedule, the only source to get a "prelim" copy needs to be the PDF files. They will appear in the API
when we determine they are final (which is coordinated with Pit Admin on site). If changes are needed, we will change
them, then publish on site.

Hope that helps,

Alex,

Sorry, I must have missed the notice (browser autocomplete took me past the homepage), thanks for the recap.

I appreciate the info about what to expect this weekend, it helps us at TBA make a plan of action to ensure everything
goes smoothly (and it means we spend less time putting out fires and more time watching matches :) ).

Good luck traveling to St. Louis and with the entire event, I'm sad I can't make it this year.
