Using the 2017 FMS for the 2018 game
As always, I'm going to be using the current OffSeason FMS for my pre-bag scrimmage.

The problem I'm running into is that there doesn't seem to be a way to specify the game-specific data field (e.g. "LRL")
either via FMS or directly on the DS. As soon as the DS becomes FMS connected, it wipes any value that was entered by
hand.

Is there a suggested workaround for this?

Thanks,
Terry

Sorry. Forgot to login. That was me.

Each version of FMS is built for the specific game, so if the DS is wiping the value on "FMS Connected" then no, there
is no way to do this until the 2018 version of FMS Off-Season becomes available (which will definitely not be by then).

Bummer. That's a little disappointing. I have some other workarounds in mind, but they're all ugly since they
basically boil down to running robots outside FMS control, which I always try to avoid if I can help it.

Going forward, it would be nice if you could standardize on a way to provide this type of game-specific data that is
likely to carry over from year to year. For instance, if the data is likely to always be encoded as a string, just
provide a string field on FMS were I could type in the correct data.

As it stands, the 2018 game is going to be tough enough to score matches without automation. I renew my request for
some sort of API (e.g. REST endpoint) where we could feed realtime scoring data to OffSeason FMS.

Thanks,
