Thunder cRIO Tools is an Eclipse plug-in that enables Eclipse to easily compile C++ programs for the NI Compact RIO-FRC (cRIO-FRC).  The tool set is meant primarily for the use of FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams that have cRIO controllers from the 2009-2014 competition years.  This tool set replaces most of the functionality provided by WindRiver Workbench that was used by teams prior to 2015 to program these controllers.  The last free license for WindRiver Workbench provided to FRC teams expired in January 2015.

Thunder cRIO Tools is meant to be an opensource-based free option for teams to continue the use of these older generation cRIO contollers for prototype use or to maintain old robots equipped with them.

Thunder cRIO Tools was developed by FIRST Team 1511, Rolling Thunder.  The Eclipse plug-in uses a gcc-based toolchain bundled by Patrick Plenefisch of WPI to actually produce the binaries.

Please note that these tools are not intended for use with the new NI roboRIO given to teams in 2015 and beyond!  For this you want to use the WPILib plug-ins provided by FIRST and WPI!

To get started with these tools, check out the installation instructions on this project's Wiki.
